Here's a glimpse into the monthly happenings that make Respectfully Social a dynamic and fulfilling community for women of color in Arkansas:

Our Committees

Together, the Planning Committee and Sister Circle epitomize the ethos of Respectfully Social, reinforcing its mission to cultivate a supportive and empowering space for women of color in Arkansas. Through their endeavors, these committees nurture bonds of friendship, solidarity, and community engagement central to the organization's identity.

  • The Planning Committee is committed to orchestrating the monthly activities of Respectfully Social, encompassing brainstorming, organization, and execution of diverse events catering to members' interests. The ultimate aim is to curate meaningful experiences fostering socialization, personal development, and community engagement.

How We Do It: Members convene monthly, either in person or virtually, to strategize upcoming activities collaboratively. This entails ideation, task allocation, and finalizing event details for seamless implementation. As Respectfully Social grows, the Planning Committee's role expands, eventually transitioning full event planning responsibilities to its members, ensuring the organization's activities remain dynamic, pertinent, and member-driven.

  • The Sister Circle forms the emotional nucleus of Respectfully Social, offering support and celebration for members through life's trials and triumphs. Acknowledging the overwhelming nature of life's milestones and challenges, the Sister Circle ensures no member faces these experiences alone, extending comfort and joy.

How We Do It: This committee operates on the principle of collective care and empathy. Members volunteer to track significant life events within the community, coordinating efforts to provide appropriate support or celebration as required. This may involve sending gestures like flowers, organizing virtual gatherings for condolences or celebrations, or simply extending heartfelt messages. The Sister Circle embodies sisterhood, ensuring every member feels valued, supported, and connected.
